Cruise Review: European Cruise Holidays

Cruises in Europe tend to be the most popular choices world round. Amazing cities, historical artifacts of ancient cultures of long past, incredible scenery, all of these wait for the tourist at each port of call on European cruises.

Nearly all major seaports have European cruises that depart from them. Some companies do a large variety of sites around the coastline, while most of the time the European cruises focus on a certain area of Europe.

Starting in Northern Europe, cruises around Scandinavia and the Baltic States are popular, especially those that take in the Norwegian fjords. Here, you are able to enjoy the breathtaking landscapes where mountains stand tall as towers in each way, and where glaciers and waterfalls are practically within your hands’ reach. Scandinavia offers a wealth of old and stately cities to visit too. Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo, and Stockholm can all be parts of your European cruise, with Helsinki specifically being home to the Uspenski Cathedral, the most massive orthodox church in the western parts of Europe.

Low Countries, British Isles, Ireland and France are all included in the Western European cruises. Some of the highlights of a Western Europe cruise include the lush green scenery of Ireland, the Scottish castles and the trip to French vineyard and chateaux. You can also visit famous ports in England, like Newcastle, which has a wide and varied history.

Moving further south into the Mediterranean Sea, a European cruise takes in the glory of the historical and beautiful Mediterranean coastline. Portugal, Spain, the French Riviera, Italy, Croatia, Greece and Turkey all have their own attractions. The famed Turkish bazaars, The Coliseum of Rome, Monaco’s grandiose vista, and even the birthplace of Salvador Dali all welcome those who decide to take a Europe Cruise within the Mediterranean.

Each region of the Mediterranean has their own specialist tours as well. Visit Spain’s Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza and Formentera Islands and get lost in the legends of what happened to their earliest inhabitants and enjoy your Mediterranean cruise.
