WE DIDN’T PLAN IT BUT IT HAPPENED. Almost half of the summer have passed without anything significant happening. My friends and I suddenly reached a decision to go camping. We got approval from our parents right away. They have been begging us to give them “a peace of mind” for a change. I grab my gear, my 4 person tent and set out to meet my friends. We assembled at a convenience store, bought some food supplies and some camping stuff. Then the four of us are on our way.
It look like our idea of hiking is shared by many others as well. We met a lot of trekkers along the way. To see this many people sharing the same interest like us, gives you this feeling that you belong, that you are part of the group. The thrill of the walk is getting into us. We have walked some distance already but we are far from being weary. We found a place where it is near a water brook. It was a perfect place to rest. It was nice to see that most people are of the same age bracket as we are. There is a sprinkling of adult and middle-aged groups. The atmosphere is festive. People are making rounds, talking animatedly, conversing with everyone. You would like to think we’ve known each other for so long.
The night is already approaching so we decided to pitch camp here. It took us just a few minutes to set up the 4 person tent. I can hardly believe that the 4 person tent is still looking good as new. Suddenly, it begun to rain. We stepped inside the 4 person tent. I know how spacious it is, but that recollection is still from my younger years. Surprise! Even at our size, it was still very roomy, especially for 4 grown-up adults like us. No doubt, we can sleep comfortably inside. We were dry and warm inside while it is cold and raining outside. The rain was fairly strong but still, you can hardly feel it inside.
Having hiked for four days, we decided to round-up our trip. In our own pace, we are able to reach the peak. The air here was extra cool. The dew is still present in some flowers even though it’s almost noon. Good thing it was warm and comfortable in our 4 person tent. We could have freezed if not for our 4 person tent. Truly, the 4 person tent is our lucky charm. It has made our adventure truly memorable. I’m sure my 4 person tent will still serve me well in the next years to come.
