Thursday, October 1st, 2009

There have been many budding holidays this year, but the two that have been on the rise the most and have been fought over in all sectors is the St Lucia and Barbados holidays. Tour operators around the world are trying to provide the best possible deals for these holidays because they are so popular. This should all make it easy to decide which one what be best for you?

Barbados holidays are the holidays for those that like to relax on the beach and enjoy a busy night life. If you do have a little training and experience surfing, then the sea conditions here will be superb for you. Barbados is famous for it’s pinkish and white sandy beaches, and almost completely clear seas. The East coast of Barbados supplies some great tumbling waves, but surfers must be careful because of some of the strong under tow currents. There is plenty of duty free shopping in Barbados, so it has become very popular with those that are shopping mad, myself included. There is no shortage of bars or pubs down the St Lawrence Gap which stretches for about 1 mile. If you like to stay up until the early hours of the morning, then this party life is for you.

St Lucia holidays are where people can be provided with luxury dreams and a most relaxing experience. This island scenery is shrouded in stunningly well preserved woodland, and surrounded by the whitest beaches you have ever seen. The sea is calm and clear, the sound of small waves crashing gives a sense of humbleness and the feeling of being care free. If you want something different as well, then why not visit thew only drive in volcano in the world. The resorts offer all kinds of spa deals, and you are guaranteed to get pampered beyond belief.

With any luck this will help you decide which holidays are best for you, do you like to relax or get partying?

Try Barbados this year for your vacation, visit one of the most historical countries in the Caribbean!

We can all go to Barbados to have a great time and enjoy the night life, but Barbados is much more than that. Barbados is home to a variety of people, a mixture between West African and British cultures are present here. 1627 was when the British first set up a colony of about 90 people most of which were slaves. When slavery was abolished in 1838 the lifestyle on the island greatly improved and when Barbados was made a fully independent island in 1966 the country rejoiced.

Because of the strong influence that Britain had on Barbados, the religion is very important. The most commonly supported is that of the Anglican Church, but there are many others ranging from Roman Catholic through to Hindu and Muslim. Not only do they have a wide range of religions they also have many festivals to celebrate them as well.

Music is the most expressive form of art that you will find in Barbados, it is very important to them. You cannot say they are not creative especially when they have created their own genre of music and its called Spouge. Jackie Opel was the man who created this music in the early 1960’s. If you want to know what Spouge exactly is, well you will need to listen to it, but basically it is a combination of Trinidadian calypso and Jamaican Ska. One of the most famous songs is called “You Send Me”. Barbados holidays have often been influenced by the music and some of the art galleries that are known around the world. There has been some debate about Barbados art galleries, but the general consensus is that they are unique and beautifully created. A lot of the art that has been created in Barbados is of very high value, and many people visit the art galleries on this island just to see all the varying kinds of art.

St Lucia holidays have even received a boost from all of Barbados tourism. There is a cruise available from one island to the other, and although both cultures are similar, it has been argued that although St Lucia is more beautiful, Barbados is the more diverse of the two.

Give these holidays a go, or try something else with history, culture and art, like Egypt holidays.
