Your Family Will Enjoy Caravaning

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

When you want to take your family on a fun vacation you may be having a hard time deciding because of money issues these days. The economy is preventing many families from taking fun vacations together like they used to. If money is tight for you then you don’t need to stop taking your holiday vacation. There are ways to still have a great time on vacation and save some money, too. One of these ways is to go caravan or RV camping.

To caravan you just need a vehicle that can haul the caravan. Many places rent caravans that do not charge much money. It is a place that you can sleep during the night while camping so you don’t have to drag out tents or rent expensive hotel rooms.

Anyplace you go you can find places to camp. You can stay at these camp sites for just a few dollars per night, depending on where you want to go. You can save money this way and still have a great time camping.

Caravaning also allows you to bring your own food. Food can be the most expensive part of the vacation. Just pack some healthy camp food that your family likes and you are all set.

If you go online you will find many places that would be great for your family and not too expensive. There are so many places to see and go to. Find a place your family would be interested in that is close to home. That way you don’t have to waste a lot of money on gasonline.

Most camp sites that you go to are very inexpensive. You may need to make reservations well ahead of time, though, so plan accordinly. Caravaning with your family is a great way to spend time together and vacation. You won’t regret that you did.

Why Not Consider Camping At Disney World?

Monday, April 5th, 2010

Did you know that Disney World offers fully functional campgrounds for you, your children,  and even the family dog? Camping at Disney World might sound like just another way Disney is trying to make money off its guests. After all, the Fort Wilderness Resort doesn’t offer a fully authentic camping experience. All campsites include electricity and water, and for an extra fee you can even get high-speed Internet access. Buildings are air-conditioned and you can easily access Disney World itself.

Despite these detractions from the pure camping experience, Disney Fort Wilderness Resort is well worth the money they charge for you to camp there. The campsite is set upon some truly beautiful land: a forest full of pine trees, water canals, and hiking trails that look like the real thing. There are even deer, rabbits, and ducks wandering around the campgrounds.

Camping at Disney World has several advantages. First of all, it is completely safe. You won’t encounter bears or other wild animals in the middle of the night, nor will you run into strangers living in the woods for nefarious purposes. So the kids will get the camping experience they desire while you have peace of mind. It also has modern conveniences, so you will not have to find places to use the bathroom or use tree leaves as toilet paper.

The campsites are situated in a forest full of pine and cypress trees and there are log cabins or other rustic-looking buildings on site. Camping at Disney is also safer than camping at a traditional campsite. There are no dangerous wild animals at Fort Wilderness Resort; you will never have to start a fire to scare away wolves, bears, or other predators. The only other people you will encounter are other paying guests, and Disney staff is located on the campgrounds in case of emergency.

Camping activities include hiking, exploring, fishing, and swimming, but if you tire of these, there is still plenty to do. Fort Wilderness offers horse and wagon rides and archery ranges in addition to traditional camping activities, and every evening a Disney movie is screened on the campsite.

Disney Fort Wilderness offers horse and wagon rides, bike rentals, swimming, fishing, archery, and even an outdoor movie every night.

The campground is located close to Disney World itself, and Disney offers complimentary transportation between the campsite and all areas of the Disney World Theme Park, including the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Animal Kingdom, and Water Parks.  If you have a dog, you can bring him or her to selected areas of the campsite. Your dog will enjoy walking through the campgrounds and will have an air-conditioned place to sleep. Cats are presumably also welcome on the campsite, although most cats are not leash trained so this may not be a good idea.

Disney Fort Wilderness charges a nominal fee for pet privileges as well as for high-speed  Internet access. With so much to do, however, you probably won’t have time for the Internet.  Camping at Disney is truly an opportunity for the whole family to get away from their  regular routines and just relax.  There are private bathroom and shower facilities on site, as well as laundry facilities. Some campsites are being renovated this year; check with Disney for availability.

Camping Resorts: Perfect For Those Who Appreciate Nature

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

Some of the world’s best camping resorts have been developed in Europe and America over the last few years. Modern life has become extremely stressful. Fitness experts and New Age philosophers both suggest a ‘back-to-Nature’ solution for maintaining health and staying happy. The number of holiday-makers preferring camping resorts has doubled over the last two years in America. Camping resorts offer different kinds of amenities and options to suit all needs. Whether it’s a group of families traveling together or a loner writer looking to spend time with himself, there’s a camping resort for everyone.

Pure adventure - You can take a safari in the jungles or get up close with wildlife in nature parks. However, these kind of camping resorts are for the hardy explorer who won’t mind if he has to cook on the fire, carry his own backpack, have no access to phones or emails at the camp site, and be ready to take on Nature’s challenges. You will have to be extremely resourceful and rugged to handle this kind of a holiday.

But if you still want the woods, early morning bird chatter, golden sunsets and sunrises without letting go of the all the luxuries of modern life like showers and air-conditioning, look for the camping resorts that also double up as spas and health resorts.

Then, there are the camping resorts that dot a cycling or hiking trail. These are large areas where you can stop for a breather on a seven-day or longer journey. You still carry your tent and essentials with you but you are not cut off from the rest of the world either. You can walk a bit from your tent and find a payphone. If you don’t want to cook under the sky, you still have access to packaged food nearby. These are great for caravan travelers.

Most camping resorts are designed for families with the organizers offering options for all kinds of group activities as part of the stay. These include games for children like treasure hunts, nature classes, walking sessions, astronomy hobby courses, cooking sessions and more. Camping resorts are ideal for family bonding and teaching children about Nature.

Most of these resorts offer a club membership that lets you choose one of their sites for a holiday every year.
