Travel To Montreal and Enjoy The Nicest Feautures You Would Hope For Of Paris

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

Montreal, Canada is the largest city in the Canadian province of Quebec and it is the second largest city in Canada. Geographically, the city is as close to the European coast as it is to Vancouver and in both look and feel it mixes some of the most exquisitecharacters of the two continents.

Paris is one of the cities that Montreal really resembles. Montreal is also the second largest French-speaking metropolis in the world. Three and a half million people are of French ancestry, the other third being a cosmopolitan blend of les autres - including British, Eastern Europeans, Chinese, Italians, Greeks, Jews, South Americans and West Indians. The city is unquestionably Canada’s most colorful place with bars and clubs, a global variety of cafes all matched by a calendar of festivals.

Montreal is very accommodating to any group or individual that decides to visit. All about the city you’ll see signs of civic pride and prosperity that basically show how they would like to show tourists a good time. Since there are always tourists passing through, Montreal has become one of the most accommodating cities in the world, with hotels that are relatively cheap to extraordinary chic hotels. The services and rental of hotel rooms vary depending on how much you have decided to budget for yourself. You are able to find a full range of services from fully serviced housing, penthouses, short term rentals and basic hotel accommodation. A good plan will be to check for cheap Montreal hotels online when finalizing your vacation so you guarantee a good rate {ahead of time|beforehand}.

As for fun activities in the city, again there are many, but here are just a few mentioned. The former Olympic cycling track, called the Biodome, has been converted into an artificial habitat that features four different ecosystems: a Tropical Forest, a Laurentian Forest, a St. Lawrence Marine Ecosystem and the Polar Worlds of the Arctic and the Antarctic. For me, my next item on the agenda was the Montreal Botanical Garden. I left the Olympic Stadium and walked under the Sherbrooke Street bridge and found myself right next to the entrance gates of Montreal’s Botanical Garden. The .75 admittance fee gives you access to both the gardens as well as the Insectarium, so I started off with an in depth introduction to the world of insects.

Open since 1990, the Montreal Insectarium holds hundreds of species of butterflies, moths, bugs and spiders. Its scientific collections hold 140,000 specimens and its exhibition collection consists of about 20,000, about 4000 of which are on public display. There is also a live collection of arthropods with about 100 species. Not only does the Insectarium focus on the science of insects, but it also explores insects in an artistic, cultural and even gastronomical views.

Right across from the Insectarium is a marsh and bog garden that features a variety of gorgeous water lily specimens. And then continuing on from there, there is a sizable rose garden with about 10,000 roses of many different kinds.

If you’re looking for some more scenic spots to visit, the Japanese Garden is located a north of the bog marsh garden and is definitely worth checking out. The designer is the world famous Ken Nakajima. The design and elements of the garden was carefully chosen and laid out from the stones, water features and plants within to create a peaceful symbolism. Right next door to the Japanese Garden lays the Chinese garden and it represents the link between the Montreal Botanical Garden and the City of Shanghai’s park departments. The Chinese garden consists of more than 120 containers that were shipped from Shanghai and required 50 specialized Chinese craftsmen to create the unique and beautiful garden.

When you travel to Montreal, you won’t be short of things to do. Enjoy your trip to Montreal!

Visit Budapest This Winter And Deliver Your Family A Real Christmas

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

An amazing fair is located in the heart of the city, in Vörösmarty Square and claims to be amongst the ten best Christmas markets in Europe. Indeed, many visitors make the trip to Budapest specifically to come to the Market.

The market also has a gastronomic side. Don’t forget to taste traditional Hungarian foods and cakes: strudel, grilled sausages and meat, Christmas cookies, kürtös kalács (hollow, cylinder-shaped pastry with different coatings: sugar, walnut).  If you get tired, have a cup of coffee with a delicious Hungarian cake in the Gerbeaud Café.

Something that is new to the Christmas program in Budapest is that the real Santa Claus from Finland is going to be there this year to listen to wishes of the children who are visiting the Christmas Market. A really important aspect to the Christmas Market program is the Advent calendar.

Whether you’re a tourist or a local of Budapest, the Christmas fair is an event that is favored by all. If you are looking for something that is very special and can’t be found anywhere else for your loved one come visit the Budapest Christmas fair.

In closing, I always find it to be a good idea to find your airline tickets and Budapest cheap hotel in advance since prices have the habit of going way up at the last second.

Traveling to new countries is always something that stays with one for the rest of your life and Budapest is one of those unforgettable places. I am positive you and your family will have a magical Christmas season.

Car Hire USA & Canada

Car Hire Considerations

Choosing which car hire company depends on a lot of factors and often the determining factor is location or opening hours. Your company might have special rates with a car rental company and wish you to use that company. Finally which rental company has the car that appeals to you. With so much competition there may still be several car hire companies ’still in the frame’ so it comes down to price.

Do not choose the cheapest headline price without looking at the extras. To find the cheapest you need to work out what the final bill is going to be. Inclusive rates are likely to appear the most expensive but actually work out the cheapest when the rental is concluded. For example which is cheaper $25 a day all inclusive or $15 per day plus an amount per kilometre, plus CDW, plus insurance, plus theft protection, plus location surcharge, plus tax or VAT etc.. In this example if each km cost 20p and you did not take any other items such as insurance, if you drive more than only 32 kms it is cheaper to have all inclusive!

It is often best not to book direct with a car hire comapny, but through a broker using their specially negotiated rates. Here again there are differences which you may wish to consider for instance Holiday Autos charge 100% cancellation fee whereas cheap-car-rental charge a cancellation charge equal to just one days rental.

It is very important that you consider insurance. If you wish to use your own insurance cover check with your insurer that they offer full cover on a hired car. You should also check the cover provided and consider carefully the options given by the car rental company as an accident, particularly for car hire in USA and car hire in Canada could be very, very costly.

Before driving off make a close inspection of the car to see if it has any scratches or had an accident. The paint work should be checked but also remember to check the interior, the tyres and low down where the car might have hit a kerb. If you spot any defects report them to the check out staff and ensure that they are marked on both your copy and the car hire firms copy of the agreement. If you do not report any damage you are likely to be charged for the damage when you return the car. We don’t want that do we.

Enjoy your rental car!
