SIZE AND COMFORT:
This is absolutely one from the tents ideal attributes. The Eureka Copper Canyon 1512 can be a correct 15′x12′ tent, as advertised. We had a king size air mattress, two blow-up side tables, a 36″ diameter table (with two huge heaters on top rated), the dog’s sleeping crate and two giant hanging shelf systems and had a lot more than enough area to sleep 3 or four further men and women. Getting in this tent is like acquiring a master bedroom even though you’re camping - you By no means really need to bend over plus the center height of 7′ demands tip-toes to reach (we hung a small lantern and it was a little bit difficult to get it up there). We lit two Coleman ProCats about an hour before we turned in every single evening and the tent was a comfy 60º or so by the time we went to bed. The temperatures outside dipped in to the 30s by 9:00pm. The entire roof in the tent is mesh (which can be why I didn’t have also quite a few reservations about operating two propane heaters) and the fly is elevated about 6″ above it making it possible for for lots of ventilation. For safety measures, we kept a battery operated carbon monoxide detector following to us.
The rainfly includes a big plastic center area that enables light to shine in to the tent throughout the day; there are nylon windows that can zip open to allow within the light or be closed when you do not want the light.
Climate:
Thankfully, the weather was good throughout our trip. Each afternoon incorporated some wind (possibly as much as 30mph) as well as the tent held powerful. We utilized all guy lines (offered using the tent) and staked all loops. We encountered some light rain two afternoons and some heavy rain for a short time a single night. No water made it inside the tent. Key to this can be maintaining all items away from the sidewalls, which can be created simple by the sheer size and virtually vertical walls of the copper canyon 1512. We also employed a 16′x12′ tarp underneath the tent (folded 1′ underneath) and it worked completely.
