Follow The Beat On Egypt Holidays

Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

Let your feet move to the rhythm of the beat at some of the world’s super clubs. These are the sort of places you can literally dance the night away in and forget your troubles as your only worry is the next beat. If you’ve chosen one the many Egypt holidays, or you’re off for some island fun on Ibiza or Majorca, our clubbing lowdown will keep you in the know of where’s hot when it comes to dancing the night away.

You can’t head out on Ibiza holidays without expecting to party the majority of your break away, as this is where super clubs were born. Head to Amnesia, one of the biggest clubs on the island and a place you certainly won’t forget. Be prepared to be blown away by the stellar sound system, which blasts the coolest tunes and hottest beats throughout this enormous venue.

Who’d have thought that Egypt holidays would involve clubbing by one of its most famous sites, the Red Sea at the Ministry of Sound club. This popular venue draws in large crowds thanks to its mix of music, from R&B to house, to the influx of DJs popping in – it also holds regular events on Friday and Saturday night.

Sat about 50 metres above Majorca’s stunning Paseo Maritimo and with views from the glass elevator over the port and Palma, Tito’s  is as much about the arrival as it is about the music. Playing mostly blues tunes, due to being a popular choice for stars such as Ray Charles and Marlene Dietrich back in the 1950s and 1960s, it has a certain charm that’s just waiting to be explored on your *Majorca holidays*.

Named after its location on the border between Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain, Berghain is distinguished by its enormous dimensions and techno beats. Join the 1,500 other revellers at this former power plant, which can be found behind the Berlin Ostbahnrof railway station.

Respect Local Customs On Dahab Holidays

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Many people opt for Egypt holidays over other destinations due to its wealth of historic sights and beautiful beaches. While Egypt is well equipped for tourists, what should not be overlooked are the cultural expectations and customs of this Islamic country, and one should be sure to adhere to these. Here is a list to help you out.

You might just be booking Dahab holidays on the beach, but one should not forget to consider, and respect, the local customs. While it is acceptable for holidaymakers to wear shorts and swimwear at the beaches and within the popular resorts such as Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada, elsewhere visitors are expected to dress more modestly. Ladies should refrain from wearing short skirts, or having their arms and shoulders bare – a pashmina or kaftan is an easy and stylish solution to this. Men must also cover their arms and shoulders, and if one must wear shorts, they should be of a respectable length. Obviously when visiting a mosque, the rules are much stricter, requiring everyone to remove their shoes, and women to cover their hair - to not adhere to these will seem extremely disrespectful.

At the tip of the Sinai Peninsula, Sharm El Sheikh is a partygoer’s paradise with an abundance of nightclubs and bars. When enjoying this thriving nightlife however, it is important to consider that alcohol is forbidden by many Muslims. Although it is widely available in the more touristy areas, those enjoying Hurghada holidays should avoid drinking in public and drink moderately when they do so as not to offend the locals.

In addition, during the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims are traditionally only permitted to work six hours per day, shops and businesses operate noticeably reduced hours. During this period, Muslims also fast from dawn to dusk. Therefore, it’s advisable to not publically eat, drink or smoke during daylight hours of Ramadan, out of respect for locals who are dedicatedly going without.

Discover Wineries On Egypt Holidays

Sunday, May 15th, 2011

People may usually associate Egypt holidays with idyllic beaches, camel rides and pyramids, but it’s also worth exploring further afield. For those looking for some fine wine, you won’t find it in Egypt, as most restaurants don’t serve it. For those looking to enjoy a glass of wine or two, it is possible to plan one- or two-day excursions to Lebanon and Israel. Go here to enjoy some brilliant tours and obviously some wine sampling.

After producing wine for 5000 years old Lebanon has become a master at producing wine. Today Bekaa Valley is the country’s wine growing centre, and most vines are grown in Baalbek, an ancient Greek city in the Valley. In around 150 AD the Romans built a temple to Bacchus, God of wine, and the temple still stands in the Valley today, making it a popular tourist attraction for those taking longer excursions from Egypt holidays. There is a French influence to the grape varieties grown here, which includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Grenache.

If you’re looking to enjoy an excursion when on Egypt holidays, then consider going to Israel. Here is another excellent winery to visit in Golan Heights. Grape varieties here include Merlot, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and those wanting a taster might like to take a tour of the vineyard. The tour includes a visit to the oak barrel cellar, viewing the bottling line and of course the all-important wine tasting.

Sandy beaches and warm waters with stunning coral reefs are ensuring that Hurghada holidays are a very popular choice for those wishing to travel to Egypt. You can easily explore other countries if you stay in one of the big Egyptian resorts, with some very cheap buses and flights. Despite having good restaurants to enjoy on Egypt holidays, it is unlikely that you will find anywhere that serves alcohol, which is why a trip out to a winery in Israel or Lebanon may be the perfect excursion.
