Explore The Egyptian Desert With Egypt Holidays

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

There is a great sense of mystery that surrounds Egypt holidays. It’s quite hard to explain why, perhaps it’s the pyramids and the Sphinx that makes this place really come to life. You really do have to experience it for yourself to feel the full effect of this fascinating country. There is so much fun to be had in the Egyptian desert, you’ll be surprised at just how many things there are to do!

Wildlife-lovers may want to visit the beautiful, protected area of Wadi Rayan which is home to a freshwater desert lake where all sorts of animals come to cool off. Head to the populated cities, like Cairo, if you want to go on a camel trek. There are plenty of tours operating which provide you with a unique insight into the Egyptian surroundings. If your ideal is riding a camel into the desert, camping out and watching the sunset then perhaps a cheap holiday in Egypt would suit you best.

Camels are not the only animals you can find in the desert. Why not have a look for whales? Travelling by jeep across the desert to Wadi Hitan will be the journey you’ll take to see The Valley of the Whales World Heritage Site - one of the most popular excursions for those on holiday in Egypt. Fossilised whale skeletons dating back forty million years lie on the sand with a backdrop of seemingly never-ending desert cliffs. This is a sight to be treasured and remembered forever. Camping out after enjoying a local dinner and then waking up amidst all this natural beauty is an incredible way to spend your time in Egypt.

Greenery might not be what you’d expect to see in the desert, but that’s exactly what visitors will find if they take a tour through the Western deserts and to the green oasis of Bahariya. The area was made famous in the mid 1990s when a huge burial ground was unearthed, containing 250 mummies, so this might not be a trip for anyone afraid of ghosts! There are hot springs dotted around the oasis so be sure to pack your swimmers so that you can enjoy the ultimate relaxing experience in the Eqyptian sun.

Go On Egypt Holidays To Explore The Most Idyllic Beaches

Monday, February 7th, 2011

Egypt is one of the top holiday destinations among British holidaymakers. Head to the coastal regions to discover some brilliant holiday resorts, as well as visiting the historic sites around Giza. There are some incredible beaches in Egypt that can be found all along the coast of the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. Whether you’re looking for tranquillity, romance or fun-filled afternoons, you’ll find a beach suitable for you in Egypt. There has never been a better time to visit this diverse country, with some very affordable Egypt holidays.

When you visit Sharm el Sheikh, you’ll soon see why people hail this area as the home to some of the best beaches in Africa. If you want to find some more isolated beaches, go to Sharm al-Maya. This area has fewer visitors and is a lot quieter than other beaches around Sharm el Sheikh. If you book one of the deals on Egypt holidays, then you can discover this vibrant area.

Sharm el Sheikh stretches on for miles and miles, and on the outskirts of the resort you can find Nabq Bay. This is one of the quietest beaches in this area, but has all the amenities you’d expect. This is a great place to come for family holidays, with all of the choice and variety of Sharm el Sheikh’s thriving centre only a ten minute drive away. Consider the beach at Dahab for laid-back relaxation. The beaches here are beautiful with calm, shallow and azure seas so perfect for families looking for somewhere to take the kids.

For romantic walks down the beach, then head to Nuweiba. This village has one of the best beaches in the country, and is seen as a bit of a local secret. It’s about an hour drive from Dahab, but it’s definitely worth hiring a car to discover the beach here whilst enjoying your Sharm el Sheikh holidays. There are plenty of different beaches to choose from, so you’re bound to find one that suits your needs.

Red Sea Watersports are second to none in Egypt

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

There are many reasons to choose Egypt as a luxury holiday destination.  For some, Egypt’s year- round sunshine proves the major attraction with well-developed resorts, great beaches and excellent hotels.Ancient Egypt’s antiquities with the magnificent temples at Karnak, Luxor and Edfu and the Pyramids of course prove the greatest draw for many other visitors. For a growing number of tourists though, it’s the clear blue waters of the Red Sea that proves the irresistible draw for snorkelling or scuba diving in the beautiful coral reefs lining the coast.

If your idea of a luxury holiday is scuba diving or snorkelling, Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh are the places you should be!Hurghada Hotels cater for the single traveller, couples and families and are perfect for a relaxed beach holiday if that’s what you want or can be the ideal base for diving holidays in Egypt.  Those with a taste for luxury holidays are well catered for in Sharm el Sheikh hotels with a choice of sumptuous five-star resorts complete with private beaches and fantastic international cuisine.  Those on a tighter budget can base themselves in compact, family-friendly boutique-style three-star hotels that are intimate, welcoming and very human scale.

Hurghada’s warm Red Sea waters are ideal for the rare fish and coral reefs that make this place so popular with the diving community.   Most dive sites are suitable for all levels of diving ability, from outright novice to seasoned expert.Divers are rewarded with a rich and varied marine life that includes moray eels, turtles, grouper fish and blacktip sharks. The Bottlenose dolphin is particularly populous in Hurghada’s waters, and the chances of meeting pods on a dive are very good! And even if you are a non-diver, you can still enjoy the sights of the underwater world of the Red Sea by booking a trip on a small submarine where you can dive to a maximum depth of 22m with around 50 minutes of bottom time.

Egypt holidays to Hurghada can also take advantage of sports on, not just under, the water too! Hurghada is the top Red Sea destination for wind and kitesurfing and is rapidly gaining a great reputation as a wake-boarding destination too. Hurghada offers good, strong, winds throughout the year, sustained by the mountain ranges just behind the town and Giftun Island offshore. The coast is also fairly flat without fringing reefs, creating the perfect conditions for wind and kite surfing. Many Hurghada hotels also offer less extreme and more relaxed watersports from banana rides to snorkelling excursions, pedal boats, canoeing, catamarans, glass-bottom boats and parasailing.

If diving doesn’t float your boat so to speak, perhaps Nile Cruises past the ancient monuments and temples would be more suitable.

Surely holiday travels are damaging the environment!

Friday, December 11th, 2009

There is growing concern about the environment, but how concerned are we really? People are burning fuel all across the world, and all we do is create more unique ways to help damage the planet. We take something like a boat and turn it into a cruise ship, we are no longer people that live for necessity we live for luxury.

So if we are that concerned about the environment, what will we be able to do about holidays? Are we just going to keep on having a go at the world, saying we need to do something about this, yet still jump on a jumbo jet for a holiday to the Caribbean? How can we just let talks about saving the world go on, and back everything that is said, and then take off to a luxury location via one of the most destructive of all transportation techniques, the Cruise ship.

However how can we be sure that the world is really in that much trouble? A lot of this is all speculation, backed up by only minor evidence. Although this evidence does have some backing, it is difficult to suggest an actual date at when the world will be irreversibly damaged. Are the holidays there for us? In truth, the damage being caused by flights isn’t in the great scheme of things all that bad, it is where fuel is being burnt in extreme amounts.

What the odds are on there being a ban on going on holiday are, I don’t know, but I would imagine it is something like one million to one. People won’t ever be stopped from enjoying themselves, because with everything else that we have to put up with, when the chance for a holiday comes around, we need to snap it up as quickly as we possibly can. Cruise ships however, they can be banned immediately in my eyes, these contraptions are pure evil, great for destroying the planet and spreading disease to kill people, as far as i am concerned get rid of them.

There could be a rush for holidays in the next decade, where would you go, Cuba holidays, Egypt holidays or Maldives holidays?

Try Barbados this year for your vacation, visit one of the most historical countries in the Caribbean!

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

We can all go to Barbados to have a great time and enjoy the night life, but Barbados is much more than that. Barbados is home to a variety of people, a mixture between West African and British cultures are present here. 1627 was when the British first set up a colony of about 90 people most of which were slaves. When slavery was abolished in 1838 the lifestyle on the island greatly improved and when Barbados was made a fully independent island in 1966 the country rejoiced.

Because of the strong influence that Britain had on Barbados, the religion is very important. The most commonly supported is that of the Anglican Church, but there are many others ranging from Roman Catholic through to Hindu and Muslim. Not only do they have a wide range of religions they also have many festivals to celebrate them as well.

Music is the most expressive form of art that you will find in Barbados, it is very important to them. You cannot say they are not creative especially when they have created their own genre of music and its called Spouge. Jackie Opel was the man who created this music in the early 1960’s. If you want to know what Spouge exactly is, well you will need to listen to it, but basically it is a combination of Trinidadian calypso and Jamaican Ska. One of the most famous songs is called “You Send Me”. Barbados holidays have often been influenced by the music and some of the art galleries that are known around the world. There has been some debate about Barbados art galleries, but the general consensus is that they are unique and beautifully created. A lot of the art that has been created in Barbados is of very high value, and many people visit the art galleries on this island just to see all the varying kinds of art.

St Lucia holidays have even received a boost from all of Barbados tourism. There is a cruise available from one island to the other, and although both cultures are similar, it has been argued that although St Lucia is more beautiful, Barbados is the more diverse of the two.

Give these holidays a go, or try something else with history, culture and art, like Egypt holidays.
