Go on holiday in the past!

Monday, September 7th, 2009

Cuba is a must to visit, no matter what. This is one of the most amazing locations across the world. Many consider this large island in the Caribbean a Wonder of the world, frozen in time.

Cuba is stuck in the late 60’s, early 70’s. The oldest of the cars on this island are still being used today as well. Although we don’t know everything about this country, the holidays are becoming very popular. Cuba holidays offer many people all kinds of activities and new experiences. The bars and restaurants are unique and very friendly, and the flamenco dancing is original and good fun. Cuba is a place to go back in time and visit the world of yesterday. Arts and crafts are in utter abundance here, so if you like history and art then i recommend it. There is so much to see and do.

Now for the holiday maker who likes a bit of sea sun and sand, well you have come to the right place. You can be sure to get plenty of this on your Cuba holiday. The beaches are truly stunning, although most are owned by surrounding hotels. Some of the hotels are funny about people who don’t have a room their to visit their beaches, so make sure that you have a room at one of the beach hotels. The Accommodation in all of these hotels is an astonishing site to behold. You can find the rooms are well kept, the service is very good and the staff are lovely. I think a lot of people get the impression that Cuba is a volatile place; the simple truth is that because we don’t have much press coverage in over here, we are drawn into thinking of it in certain ways.

If you are considering a holiday this year then give Cuba a go, the only other holidays I would recommend are Egypt holidays, this is because they still maintain a very powerful and interesting history.

BT offering staff some new and creative holiday ideas!

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

So if the company you worked for said “you can take a massive holiday but less pay” what would you do?

Well BT have come out and said that this is what they are going to be offering their employees. Basically if the employees want they are being given the chance to take a 25% stake of there annual wages and keep it for the rest of the year, but they wont receive any more, they will then have the rest of the year as time off. Another option that is really being pushed forward is to ask some employees to take a one thousand pound lump sum and then go part time for the rest of the year.

So what’s spurred this on? BT have just come out and said how much profit that they have lost this year, in-fact they have a lost a massive 1,3 billion pounds. It would appear that they think by cutting the costs of wages to their 100,000 employees that they could save a little bit of cash before getting into serious trouble.

So looking at this in a positive light, what do the employees get out of this? Some people will be able to spend time with the family. It is also voluntary, so employees don’t have to take any of the options up. This also means that some can embark on some very long trips or soul searching holidays. Relaxing St Lucia holidays or Egypt Holidays.

However there are problems with this as well, people wont be able to afford to go on any of these holidays. However people with children although may be able to spend more time with the family, they will find it hard to cope without the spending money. What are the main consequences that BT could be facing with this? Personally I believe that BT needs to find other ways of sorting out the business instead of letting its employees take the fall.

However if you are one of the lucky ones who can still afford Caribbean holidays, then you may as well enjoy the break.

Ancient cultures in Egypt are very well preserved, it is also a fantastic Holiday Destination!

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Egypt is very large and is up in the north east of Africa. If you go to Egypt you will find that you can chill out, or if you want go and travel the lands in search of the ancient buildings and tombs that surround it.

One of Egypt’s most prominent features is obviously its pyramids. When the Pyramid was finally built, it was at a height of over one hundred and fort metres. For a structure to last 4000 years it shows how much workmanship went into them. The Great Pyramid of Giza was built around 2561 BC, that’s about 4500 years ago. The history of the Egyptians is very diverse and strong, it is clearly preserved in Egypt’s culture as well. There is also the Sphinx and the River Nile as well.

The holiday resorts in Egypt are gorgeous as well. They are truly beautiful sites to behold. Egypt has some amazing resorts as well, they must have taken notes from the pyramids. Going to Egypt doesn’t have to be all about the sites, you can go to Egypt’s second Capital, Alexandria. Many of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World were in Egypt. In Egypt or more precisely Alexandria, there was One of these Seven Wonders of the World. This Lighthoue was built over two thousand years ago, it was thought that it towered at about one hundred and thirty five metres tall, it was severely damaged by an earthquake and fell a few years later.

Still in all of these places like Alexandria is the evidence of a powerful and unique ancient civilization that used to roam the world many years ago. Egypt holidays aren’t all just about the site seeing though. The beach holidays in Egypt are massively growing tourists applications, they offer some of the most spectacular diving sites in the world.

Luxury holidays in Egypt have been a growing attraction to tourists all over the world, and with trips to the Pyramids and the likes of Mount Sinai Caribbean holidays have a new holiday hot-spot contender.
