Egypt holds children in hospital for fear of Swine Flu!

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

The world is still being attacked by Swine Flu. It was coming to that point where, we all thought that the Swine Flu epidemic was starting to end. We are now aware that Swine Flu has travelled almost the entire Globe now. Swine Flu is has been the planets enemy for a while now, but what are the symptoms that we can “really” expect to experience?

Swine Flu is something that can be distinguished relatively easily from the “normal” strain of Flu. It is often described as something that a normal Flu could never make you feel like. Flu travels through the Human body at a slower rate, and doesn’t get to its worse state for a couple of days. Compared to other Viruses, Swine Flu is a fast acter, it damages the body as quikcly as possible. The Symptoms that you get with Swine Flu are very much the same as those that you get from the Common Flu, such as Back aches and muscle ache, Nausea. Some symptoms are much much worse than normal, they are described by doctors and people who have had the virus, to be more than 10 times as bad as normal Flu.

Tourism is once again being dealt a blow due to the Swine Flu Virus. Although the school half term time is supposed to be a time for families to go on holiday, it is proving to be particularly nasty for some that headed to Egypt, guards suspected they might have Swine Flu. The place these people were taken to has been slammed, the conditions were horrible. After their body heats were monitored as above normal in the airport at Sharm El Sheikh, they were rushed to a hospital with other Brit families. This has proved that the Swine Flu virus on’t be going away quietly, and now with Premiership football players being diagnosed with the virus, it shows it’s still spreading.

Egypt holidays have received a bit of a crash recently; Caribbean holidays including St Lucia holidays have been very successful through the Swine Flu period.

Surely holiday travels are damaging the environment!

Friday, December 11th, 2009

There is growing concern about the environment, but how concerned are we really? People are burning fuel all across the world, and all we do is create more unique ways to help damage the planet. We take something like a boat and turn it into a cruise ship, we are no longer people that live for necessity we live for luxury.

So if we are that concerned about the environment, what will we be able to do about holidays? Are we just going to keep on having a go at the world, saying we need to do something about this, yet still jump on a jumbo jet for a holiday to the Caribbean? How can we just let talks about saving the world go on, and back everything that is said, and then take off to a luxury location via one of the most destructive of all transportation techniques, the Cruise ship.

However how can we be sure that the world is really in that much trouble? A lot of this is all speculation, backed up by only minor evidence. Although this evidence does have some backing, it is difficult to suggest an actual date at when the world will be irreversibly damaged. Are the holidays there for us? In truth, the damage being caused by flights isn’t in the great scheme of things all that bad, it is where fuel is being burnt in extreme amounts.

What the odds are on there being a ban on going on holiday are, I don’t know, but I would imagine it is something like one million to one. People won’t ever be stopped from enjoying themselves, because with everything else that we have to put up with, when the chance for a holiday comes around, we need to snap it up as quickly as we possibly can. Cruise ships however, they can be banned immediately in my eyes, these contraptions are pure evil, great for destroying the planet and spreading disease to kill people, as far as i am concerned get rid of them.

There could be a rush for holidays in the next decade, where would you go, Cuba holidays, Egypt holidays or Maldives holidays?

How much longer will the tourist industry be operating in the Polar Bear City?

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Churchill is located on the far west coast of Canada. Recently this holiday has become more and more popular. Does this mean that it could be damaged climate change?

Churchill is most famous for its population of Polar bears, who visit every year around autumn to escape the receding ice flows. The polar bears then ram around as they want to, taking over Churchill. Because of this Churchill has been named the Polar Bear capital of the world. This has helped boost the tourist industry around the area, and now tour operators offer Canada tours dedicated to this area, to show people the stunning environment.

Not only is Churchill rare, there is also another rare occurance, it is an Ecotone. An Ecotone is a environmental phenomenon where there is an abrupt change in environmental circumstances. Basically it stands on a border between three very different environments. They are the Boreal forest to the south, the Tundra climate to the north east and the Hudson Bay to the north. If you have never seen the Aurora Borealis then this one of the best places on the planet. Not only does this area have all the se attributes, it is also home to the Beluga whales in summer, over 57,000 of them, and has a very extensive amunt of bird fauna that cover the whole area.

Churchill has become extremely reliant on the tourism industry, but how long will it be able to support tourists. The simple way to put it, is that Churchill is on the border between three dramatic climate and environmental differences. The tourism industry will fail. Canada holidays benefit greatly from this environmental phenomenon, but how much longer will it last. Alaska Cruises also circle round to this area, so maybe that holiday is better sooner rather than later.
