How is trampoline made?

The use of trampolines can be either for health purpose or fun activities. Lots of households these days have outdoor trampolines in their garden for their children to play on. A lot of parents use trampolines to improve their health and fitness. Sinec 1900 trampoline has been built. It was used in circus by circus performers. In 1936 it became a modern sport after being developed by George Nissen, the American gymnast.

People had their concerns in 1990’s about the number of accidents caused by trampolines. There were lots of people getting injured by using trampolines. Since 2008 trampoline manufacturers have started attaching trampoline accessories with every trampoline they sell to cut to down the accidents. And now that the safety elements has been fixed the sales of the trampolines have gone up. There is no fear about the safety of the trampoline nowadays.

How to build a trampoline?

There are four basic components needed to built trampolines and they are tubing, springs, jumping mat and safety pads. To make the frame and the legs of the trampoline tubing is used. Springs help in generating the bounce. Springs are generally built by spring suppliers. The trampoline manufacturers send the supplies the specification of the springs and the supplies build it to the specification. Jumping mats are made of artificial fibres like nylon or polyethylene which is WV-protected to prevent fading. Safety pads are made of foam and it covers the springs and the frame of the trampoline. Normally these safety pads are outsourced and built by different manufacturers.

For safety reasons these days most trampolines have safety nets. These safety equipments normally come with the trampolines when you purchase one, not sure about the nets but you can always purchase it separately. Normally in England 12ft trampolines are quite popular and it has been sold more than any other trampolines.

What Is The Henley Royal Regatta?

Saturday, June 5th, 2010

Henley Regatta is a rowing event that takes place in London once a year. it is also known my many people as Henley Regatta but it should definitely not be confused with other Regattas such as the Henley women’s one or that of Henley veterans. The first one was held in 1839 after the success of the original Oxford and Cambridge boat races that proved extremely popular. It became Royal after Prince Albert became the first royal to take part in the Regatta. All monarchs’s so far after Prince Albert’s death have agreed to be the official patrons of the event with no exceptions. Apart from the Queen, many other Royal family members tend to participate in the Regatta every year.

The duration of the event is five days during the first week of July and lots of visitors from all around the world turn up. it is a very important event, not only for rowing lovers as many newcomers attend each year. Participants need to apply maximum until 16 days before the 1st day of the events and each event has a limited number of places. Therefore, planning well in advance is strongly advisable because of high demand.

The course, which was changed in 1885 and 1922 is not the distance from the Temple island all the way until Henley Bridge, which is about 550 yeards (or 500 meters). All athletes are surrounded by plenty of safety boats in order to ensure health and safety and it can be said that it is a very safe event. Although the Regatta has been for a long time an exclusive men’s privilege, it changed in 1975 so women can equally participate.

Henley Regatta is really popular not only for individuals but also for big London companies which include it into their agenda with corporate events taking place annually. Corporate hospitality is another reason that attracts more and more companies and for some people the character of the event is being changing during the recent years.

Don’t Be Contained, Enjoy Sport Outside

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

The outside world is sadly all but forgotten about by lots of people now. A lot of children and adults alike would prefer to spend their hours inside watching television, increasing their risk of obesity and heart disease. Sport is one of the best ways to get outside, get moving and enjoy everything the world has to offer. Below are three examples of sports that use nature to its most and will certainly get your heart pumping?

Cycling
. They say you never forget how to ride a bike…so what is stopping you getting on one now. You can pick up good second hand bikes now for next to nothing and you can look up good cycle routes on the internet very easily. On top of this, with biking you can take it as easy or as vigorously as you like so you don’t have to worry if you’re unfit at the moment or are carrying an injury

Kayaking
. If you’re a little more adventurous and like being on the open water then kayaking is the sport for you. Like mountain bikes there are plenty of good kayaks around and all you need other than that is an oar and a life jacket. Make sure you get some training first so that you know what to do in the event of an accident, but after that you can go exploring to your heart content.

Surfing. If you’ve managed to stay dry in the kayak and fancy getting your hair wet then why not find some friends, grab a number of surfboards and hit the beach. People think that surfing is very hard but if you start of with body surfing and work up to standing as you get better, you’ll soon get the hang of it. Surfing is one of those sports that is very addictive so be prepared for wrinkly fingers

Incredible York Vacations

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

More and more folk are choosing to take local vacations this year. For the majority of us the choice is to save money but is this the decision of the wise or a terrible error? Commonly we overlook the large number of local visitor attractions and yet they are often superb and far better than those we would see elsewhere. Folk resident in the United Kingdom have a tremendous list of places in which to take a vacation all of which have a huge selection of first class tourist attractions to visit. In this article I introduce the English city of York and York hotels.

York is located in the north of England and was, a long time ago, the capital of a kingdom equal to most of northern England. With such an old city it will not come as an enormous surprise to discover a massive collection of immensely old architecture, however you may not expect the astounding sight of the 12th century Gothic York Minster.

The earliest incarnation of York Minster was a small construction made of wood in which King Edwin of Northumbria was baptised in 627. It wasn#t until the 11th century that the first substantial stone construction appeared on the site. Constructed by the Norman Archbishop, Thomas of Bayeux it was added to by Archbishop Roger who added a a south transept and a north transept. After many additions it was complete and consecrated in the year 1472. Inside has the world’s biggest medieval stained glass window. York has many other places to visit including; the National Railway Museum, the Roman Bath Museum, the Jorvik Viking Centre, Barley Hall, Fairfax House, York Dungeon and York Castle Museum.

On top of all of the astounding historic attractions mentioned earlier, York is a superb city in which to party the night away or experience live music, the theatre or opera. It that doesn’t thrill you then you could spend the evening in a pub there are certainly masses to choose from, to name but a few; Old Star Inn, Kennedys Cafe Bar, The Bluebell Inn, the Slug and Lettuce and The Royal Oak, and, lastly, the Black Swan. Out of all the pubs the Black Swan is more than likely the most widely appealing with a pleasant atmosphere and sometimes having live music.

Hotels In York

As in most UK cities you will find a huge selection of York B&B accommodation ranging from cheap guest houses to first class hotels. The Middlethorpe Hall hotel is just two miles from the city centre but provides excellent bed and breakfast with it’s own private gardens, gym, steam room and sauna, and it also offers massages. Other first class hotels in York include; Hotel du Vin and Bistro, Marriott on Tadcaster Road, Parsonage Country House Hotel and Bishops at 135 Holgate Road and one of the finest guest houses is Crossways Guest House, or if you are searching for something different why not take a look at Marmadukes Boutique Hotel.
