Owning a tent that can cover many situations is essential. I know the 10 person tent is the type of tent that can do it. This kind of tent can be a great foundation for your camping trips to rely on. Before making a purchase on any type of tent there are a few things you should keep in mind. In this article I will share with you why I choose this type of tent and what to look for when purchasing one.

The 10 person tent has become a very popular choice for those with a large family. It’s makes a great opportunity for family and friends to share the same tent. Even if you have less than 10 people this tent is still a great pick. It will give you the space and comfort you need. Most of my camping trips only involve 2-4 people and I always bring my 10 man tent. I enjoy the extra space and privacy this kind of tent provides. This type of tent can be used for many different sleeping situations.

When searching for a 10 person tent make sure to find one with a good weather rating. As we all know the weather is constantly changing and the forecast isn’t always right. A storm could come and ruin your sunny day you had planned. To be prepared for this you will want to make sure your tent can withstand windy conditions, rain, and also any type of weather condition you think could come your way. Having good air flow in your tent will be something else to look out for. If you plan on using a space heater proper ventilation is a must. The fumes that build up can be deadly.

The bigger the 4 season tent the more privacy options there are. Having a larger tent will make it easier to add wall dividers. The extra privacy is nice when you have different age groups camping together. The dividers aren’t sound proof but they make excellent rooms for camping gear to be stored or extra rooms for your guest.

The 10 person tent is becoming more and more popular as campers realize that bigger is better. Most campers want to experience a relaxing getaway and this kind of tent can take you there.

Some Things To Consider Before Getting Big Camping Tents

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

An experienced camper will tell you how important it is to have the right size tent. Unfortunately I did not take this into consideration when I took my family of 6 camping with only a 4 person tent. I could write a book about this trip but I do not want make you as miserable as my family was on our camping trip. Lets just say it rained the whole time and we were packed like a bunch of sardines.

Deciding how many campers there will be using your tent is the first thing you want to do. Large tents can hold many people. A rule of thumb I like to follow is to have about 30 square feet per person of floor space. As far as height goes the average person isn’t over 6 foot so standing in a large tent should not be a problem. I have a 5 person tent and the height is around 7 feet.

The next option to consider is if you want privacy. Tents are pretty thin but having a divider or two can really make things feel more private. They have many different room options in large tents and most larger tents that are manufactured today come with built in rooms. You could have different rooms for your family. You could have a room just for the parents and another room for the kids. Having a room just for your camping gear can make your sleeping and hangout areas more roomy. There are so many options to choose from you shouldn’t have any problems with your privacy needs.

The good thing about large tents is that when the weather isn’t ideal you can hide out and still be comfortable. Camping is a event that can take place any time of the year so having the right kind of tent is important. Make sure your tent has a decent weather rating that can withstand most weather conditions. The day you thought it was going to be nice outside could easily turn into a miserable day. You will want a tent that can tolerate heavy wind and rain. If you plan on being in very hot conditions you want to keep ventilation in mind also.

Knowing what options to choose when looking at large tents will greatly raise the experience of your upcoming camping trips. Camping is a moment for family and friends to bond while enjoying the outdoors.

Considerations Before Choosing A 6 Person Camping Tent

Monday, May 30th, 2011

When looking for a tent you will see that there are many options to choose from. This can become a very difficult choice if your not sure what to look for. I have come up with some key things to keep in mind to help you make the right choice. After reading this article you will be able to select a tent that suits your camping needs.

The first thing to consider is the size of your tent. How many people do you think will be using this tent? The 6 person tent is designed to sleep 6 people. This usually holds true but depending on the age and size of your campers this could change. A rule of thumb I personally use is to think about how many people you have then add room for 1 to 2 more people. If you have 3-4 campers then you will probably want to go with the 6 person tent. By applying this you won’t run across comfort problems. Another plus in having this extra space is you will be able to store your camping essentials without it being in your way.

The next option to consider is privacy. A 6 person tent usually comes with the option of either having 1 room or multiple rooms. If there are children, teenagers, and adults in the same tent you might want to consider leaning towards multiple rooms. It mainly depends on your situation and how much privacy you desire. In most cases you will want the extra privacy but if you want to keep a eye on your kids then you will want the one room tent. All jokes aside it will just depend on your situation on how you will figure out if you need extra privacy or not.

The last thing to consider is the tents weather rating. You need to think about the locations you will be camping and what the weather conditions will be like. Make sure to get a tent that can handle heavy rain, windy conditions, and whatever weather you think could come your way. If you plan on camping in the hot weather you should also keep ventilation in mind. My 6 person tent is a three season tent and it handles spring to fall very well.

The 6 person tent can come with many options but following these simple tips you should have your tent picked out in no time. In the end having the proper tent for your situation will make a smooth and successful camping trip.
