Tips On Keeping Your Trampoline Protected In Winter

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011

There are lots of homes nowadays who have outdoor trampoline in their garden. Trampolines are now very popular amongst the kids since it updated and improved its safety. 8ft trampolines, 10ft trampolines, 12ft trampolines and 14ft trampolines all were sold widely in 2010. The trampoline sales have increased by approximately 30% in 2010 in comparison to 2009 as been said by many trampoline manufacturers. That is good news for the manufacturers but what can we use a trampoline for?

You will be able to use trampoline for both fitness and fun activities. Several parents have bought their children outdoor trampolines or garden trampolines for fun activities. This will not only ensure the children are having fun in front of your own eyes but also ensure the children are getting some health benefits out of this. Parents can also use the trampolines for their own fitness purposes. Trampoline can help you loose weight and even tone your body. How? Jumping in a trampoline require body strength to control the jump in this air. Which means that the more you use a trampoline the more stronger you get and it also helps your endurance.

Different weather conditions can play a big part and that is the only negative thing about having an outdoor trampoline. If it starts snowing or raining how do you protect your trampoline? When you buy a trampoline the retailer will also advise you to buy safety equipments for it. And those equipments will help you protect the user and also the trampoline itself. To cover your trampoline from snow, rain or any other weather conditions you will be able to buy a plastic trampoline cover.

Especially now as it has started snowing all over the UK, we should not be surprised by this as we had a record breaking winter last year and this year again does not look that good. So it’s better to be prepared now and get these equipments ready before the weather destroys your trampoline.

Things Required To Build A Trampoline

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

Nowadays you will see trampolines used by several people in the UK, US or any other countries. Since becoming an Olympic sport in 2000, it has increased its reputation and popularity. These days thousands of people have started using trampolines for family fun activities and also fitness regimes. Quite a lot of households have 8ft trampolines because it suits most of the gardens in UK’s properties but some also have bigger sizes such as 12ft trampolines or even 14ft to 16ft trampolines.

So what materials are use to build a trampoline?

Frames.

Springs.

Protection Pads.

The Jumpbed.

Cover.

Ladder.

Safety Enclosure.

The above are materials needed to build a trampoline. There has been a lot of talk about trampoline safety in the past. Trampoline manufacturers across the World have now said that safety nets should be a compulsory equipment attached to a trampoline before it goes to the market because of safety reasons. This will hopefully help and decrease the number of accidents that took place by using the trampolines.

The casualties in 2010 have increased again compare to 2009 but to be honest this might be because the summer has been brilliant in 2010 than 2009. So many people are encouraged to use trampoline during a lovely sunny day. And that also after a lot of people have figured out that trampoline can be used to lose weight. In the past trampoline has been used to lose weight by many individuals and many will continue to do so in the future. Yes it can be dangerous because of all these stories about trampoline safety but which exercise isn’t? Swimming, working out at the gym, running and cycling all of these have some kind of danger. Even then people still use these techniques to exercise.

Hopefully this post has provided you the information on what components are used to create a trampoline. Unfortunately I cannot go deeper on the components in this article but I will have more detail in my next article.

The Top 4 Pieces of Playground Equipment

It may be some years ago when we were in a playground but most of us warmly remember the fun we had negotiating climbing frames, getting butterflies in our tummies when we soared on the see saw, getting dizzy on the roundabout and generally running around making a noise and exploring the environment. Here are my top four pieces of playground equipment that I wish we could still use today without getting funny looks!

4. Climbing Frames

These complex metal structures provide a world of opportunities for climbing, clambering, hanging swinging and generally getting lost in the maze of metal beams. Could you get to the end of the monkey bars? Think you could now? Why not try it!?

3. The See Saw

Remember your first ever go on this tilting counter-balanced beam? You probably felt like you were being launched into space and could have been forgiven for crying your eyes out! Once you got into the swing of things however it was all fun and games, unless of course the person sitting on the other end was considerably heavier than you! Talking of swings¦

2. Swings

The challenge here was to try and get all the way around, of course none of us ever managed it! There was technique to swinging high and fast though, no doubt something which gave the sciensts among us a good grounding in physics!

1. The Roundabout

This was always my personal favourite, up to four people spinning round and round aided by centrifugal force! No doubt most of us still have this feeling whne we stagger out the pub on a Friday night! The roundabout made the news a few years ago when a young chav decided to use the back wheel of his motorised scooter to spin it, terrifying the passenger!

These just a few kids play things that I used to love, now I’m more into trampolines, both 8ft trampolines and12ft trampolines

People had their concerns in 1990’s about the number of accidents caused by trampolines. There were lots of people getting injured by using trampolines. Since 2008 trampoline manufacturers have started attaching trampoline accessories with every trampoline they sell to cut to down the accidents. And now that the safety elements has been fixed the sales of the trampolines have gone up. There is no fear about the safety of the trampoline nowadays.

How to build a trampoline?

There are four basic components needed to built trampolines and they are tubing, springs, jumping mat and safety pads. To make the frame and the legs of the trampoline tubing is used. Springs help in generating the bounce. Springs are generally built by spring suppliers. The trampoline manufacturers send the supplies the specification of the springs and the supplies build it to the specification. Jumping mats are made of artificial fibres like nylon or polyethylene which is WV-protected to prevent fading. Safety pads are made of foam and it covers the springs and the frame of the trampoline. Normally these safety pads are outsourced and built by different manufacturers.
