Joe And His Better Half Sneak Out Of Town

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Joe ended up being merely your person with average skills, nothing genuinely unique about him other than he was a firemen. This individual never genuinely thought of themselves as daring despite the fact that people often did. The challenge had been that ever since he rescued a child from the burning building one day and the community paper turned him into an instantaneous celeb full of photos and everything he had the title hung on him.

After a couple of weeks he could not even purchase his own meal because people were giving him everything that he wanted for free. As he went out on town with his wife one night she quickly discovered that she could not be seen with him even because of all the questions. Some of those questions would even be about her favorite pair of pearl izumi shorts. She normally ignored them, but on occasion she would answer the questions just to give people something to talk about.

That was when Joe decided that him and his wife wold do something they had always dreamed of doing and that was to take a vacation. The vacation would be one that they could finally use the mongoose mountain bike the local bike shop had given them both.

When they realized that it had been so long ago that they had acquired the item and never gotten to use it they were amazed. Joe quickly decided to spread the word to people that they were going to go into the mountains for a week or two. Joe knew that the results were not favorable as many people came up and tried to talk him out of taking the vacation some of them even offering him hundred dollar bills.

When Joe realized how lost they would be for only a couple of weeks he knew that they would be stunned by the next thing he decided to drop on them. The next thing that he dropped on them was that they were actually going to purchase a house while down there. People did not think that was a good idea, but knew that he had always been one to leave the town for a great experience in the outdoors.

Joe did make a promise to the small crowd around his retirement party that they would purchase one item from each store in town. The good thing for Joe was that many of the stores had recently went out of business and his wife’s favorite clothing shop was one of them. The downside was that the bicycle shop had just gotten some diamondback bikes in and Joe knew that he had to have those.

Joe made a decision which would allow them to get away from the township during the night time. Then they wouldn’t have folks preventing them from leaving. Joe and his better half realized that the men and women of the township would certainly try to stop them and also speak out on the topic. Yet Joe and his better half knew they wanted to get out of town before anyone knew they were gone.

Traveling With Pets

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Planning a vacation can get overwhelming at times. If you’re planning on taking your pets with you, it can get even more overwhelming. Traveling with your pet is possible, but it does take a bit of extra planning before you leave home. That extra planning, though, can help make your vacation much more relaxing.

Traveling on airlines?

You’ll need to make some extensive preparations when you’re planning on flying. Be sure to check with the airline if you have certain short-nosed breeds of cats or dogs. Almost all commercial airlines will also require a certificate of veterinary inspection. If you can, you should try to plan a non-stop flight. Depending on the airline, you may have to provide your pet’s travel crate. If this is the case, you need to make sure the crate is large enough for your pet to be comfortable. In order to make it easy to pick up the crate, clearly and carefully label the crate.

Planning to travel by car?

It is important to prepare your pet if you’re planning a long drive. Take several short drives to get your dog or cat used to being in a vehicle. Secure your pet’s crate in a seat that does not have an airbag. If your dog will be traveling in the bed of a truck, make sure the crate is secured. Try and keep your pet’s schedule as normal as possible, including feeding and bed times. Stop every two hours to let your pet get out of the car and stretch.

Crashing in a hotel?

Not every hotel allows pets to stay in the rooms – so research is very important. Most often, small or locally-owned hotels are much more pet-friendly. Search for pet-friendly hotels online, then make a call to verify their policies. Try to bring the pet’s favorite toy or blanket – something that helps them feel at home. Be sure your pet is allowed extra time to explore and feel at home.

Planning on camping?

If you love the great outdoors, you can take your pet camping with just a little extra planning. Help your pet be careful when they are out in the woods – there are many things they may not be used to. Be sure your pets have protection from ticks, heartworms, and fleas. Keep them on leash or in sight – just one interesting scent and they might run off. If you’re planning on visiting a privately-owned campground, be sure to check on their pet policies as well.

Taking vacations with your pet can make exploring the world even more fun. Make sure your vacation is as relaxing as you hope it is by doing some pre-planning.
