What are the Pros and Cons of getting married abroad?

Monday, September 7th, 2009

This is a hard topic to really get our heads around.Everybody imagines what thier wedding is going to be like, and we all have different scenarios. Not everyone is going to want to go overseas to get married abroad, but in the current economic climate, might it actually be cheaper and better to do so.

Lets have a look at some of the Pros ofweddings abroad. If your thinking about going somehwere tropical then there are some big thumbs up straight away. For starters the clouds aren’t likely to threaten your wedding, you can remain confident that the sun will be beaming down on you. Also and somehwhat strangley it appears that going abroad to get married could actually be cheaper than having your wedding at home. Getting married at home has so much cost attached to it now that it may be considered a good idea to spend the same amount of money or maybe a little less on going to a luxury location and enjoying your wedding there.

Obviously the best part about it is that you can start your honeymoon straight away, no extra flights because youre already in the perfect location to have a great time. Why get married at home when you can have aluxury holidayfor your wedding.

Now we cant just look at the good parts about this, unfortunately there are some Cons. The first and probably the most important is that you might find that not all of the people you invite will be able to make it, getting the time off work or for them to get to the desired location will make it hard for some to do so.One problem that might arise is that some locations have a minimum residency policy. What this means is that you need to take up residence in the location where you are going to get married for some time. The upside of this is you get an extended holiday.

One more problem you might find is that the wedding you have abroad might not be recognised by the church at home, but if you dont mind having a civil ceremony followed by a blessing when you get back you can overcome this pretty easily.

So what is the best decision? Church weddings just happen to be what some people want, and you have some people that just want to go away and have a different type of wedding, all in all it just matters what’s important to you. What is it that you would like to do on your special day, aCaribbean holidayin the place of your dreams, or at the church where you know you will have all of your family and friends to be with you?

Are luxury holidays too expensive?

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Money confronts us as a problem all the time, and with the recession reaching its peak can we afford to pay for a luxury holiday. Although things look bleak, holiday prices are coming down and they have become more available to us.

However does this really help us, although holiday prices are coming down the odds are we still won’t be able to afford luxury holidays. We all have to take into account that our money is used up quickly with bills, but is a luxury holiday really going to set you back? If you look around you will find more and more deals coming in, with travel agents trying to send you all over the world for as little as possible, even on Caribbean holidays where you have the clean white beaches and 5 star hotels, all of the pampering that you would ever need from a holiday.

Looking around for the best deals will help, but because competition is so tough they are all bringing their prices down just keep up with each other. Even if bills are taking up most of our money, one of the mopst important things for us to do is get away from everything every now and then, and luxury holidays are now cheaper and more available.

Some people are even having their weddings abroad because the prices are even cheaper abroad than they are at home, this shows that holidays at home might not be that cheap either. Now that luxury holidays are becoming more avalable to us its easier to get away from all the stress at work and home. So yes luxury holidays are becoming easier to afford, and it will help with the stress of home and work life, but money is money, so what will you do?

Whats the reason celebrities go to the Caribbean for their holidays, the weather?

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

It might sound like a silly question but is the answer that obvious? The Caribbean is warm and sunny; you have all the beaches and many other attractions, but are these reasons why….

Do they go on Caribbean holidays just to get away from it all? It’s understandable that they would like to just get away and sit by the beach and let everything go. The life of a celebrity is a stressful one so they do need to relax. Do they just want that bit of privacy where the papers and photographers will just leave them alone so they can enjoy their luxury holidays?

They might do, but they possibly don’t. What if they know exactly what they are doing, they go to these “private” places to get some more exposure. They must know they are guaranteed to get snapped at some point, especially seeing as they are holiday, few drinks and all. The Caribbean has got to be one of the best places to really let yourself go, it’s not so much a relaxing holiday as a more “lets go have fun” holiday. They could also be going over there to get away with things that wouldn’t normally be able to do back at home, let’s put it this way, their not all angels.

Celebrites might just go over to the tropics for one other reason, maybe not as much as the others, unless they are looking for it. So is it to fall in love, Paris Hilton is “the happiest” she has been in a long time. So what’s next for the celebrity after all they already have weddings abroad, maybe we should join them. Let’s say we all went and lived on these islands, would they go somewhere else? Still even though they are on holiday, it must be hard to forget that you are more than likely going to be followed, they do still get into the papers.

Is it good for your health to go on a Caribbean holiday?

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Is sea air actually that go for you, everyone seems to have the concept that sea air is great fresh air, but how good is it? Let’s start with the good points to going on a beach holiday, and why it is good for your health, then we can make a decision later…

What’s better than going to the beach and having a good swim? Getting your heart to work hard is why swimming is great, all your muscles work together to get the body moving, you can get a strong heart beat too. While you are swimming you are making your heart work harder, this in turn, helps blood flow around the body and you can do all this while having fun. Coupled with swimming in the sea is the sea water itself, sea water is very good for your skin. Permanent scars and acne can be cleared up with the high salt levels in the sea.

The sun is also good for your skin (in small doses). Skin cancer and multiple sclerosis can both be reduced in risk with vitamin D which is supplied by sunlight.

If anything the one thing we can all agree on (as long as you have a good holiday) is that holidays are best for reducing stress levels. Heart disease and skin problems are a cause of large amounts of stress. Stress can cause health problems, and getting this under control could really help. Being able to go on luxury holidays by the beach will relieve stress will help you to clear your head as well.

Now for the bad points, let’s say you were looking at Caribbean holidays for example. There are sandy beaches everywhere, and nothing you can do to avoid them. Getting away from the sun wont be an option. The sun isnt always good for you, in high amounts it can be very bad for you. We have all been there, stayed in the sun too long and noticed we are shedding skin or glowing lobster red, the skin is just getting cooked.

In recent studies it has been shown that the sea air isn’t actually that brilliant for you. Although the air is cleaner than that, say in a city, it contains some interesting substances. Try not to panic it wont kill you, its just that it isnt that great for you. There is a substance that is released by animals in the sea called DMS (dimethyl sulphide), this substance floats around the sea and the beaches and irritates the eyes and nose, it also has that smell you detect when your at the seaside. Nitryl chloride is a second substance that was found by the beach and in the sea, it is a respiratory inhibitor, which means we find it hard to breathe but it is reduced in amount by the sun.

So are beach holidays good for you? If you do some exercise and look after yourself then yes it is very good for you especially seeing as it relieves stress. Nobody is going to stop going to the beach or going on holiday, the bad points aren’t bad enough yet. So if you planning weddings abroad then go for it, swim in the sea and enjoy the sun.
